DEAR PROSPECTIVE CLIENT:

You are warmly welcomed and invited to review our website. Both Kenneth and I hope in the time you spend with us in this virtual space, you will feel comfortable and informed as a consumer and have some initial questions answered. We are confident that there is much our practice is able to offer to you, your partner, or your family. We are grateful for all the human beings we have been fortunate to have met and worked with. We do not take anything for granted, and our goal today is the same as when we opened our doors in 1998 - to be a viable resource for the south suburban Chicago metropolitan area for individual therapy, marital/couple therapy, and family therapy. If, after you review this site and you have additional questions, feel free to contact us. If you feel that this practice is not the best fit for your needs, our wish is that you continue your journey and do not give up or abandon the goals or the motivation that prompted you to seek additional support initially. There is help and support out there. Sometimes it does take some searching and a bit of interviewing to find the best provider for your needs.

We understand that there most likely have been a series of events that have recently unfolded. You may be awake late into the night, unable to sleep because of the anticipation of some unpleasant event the new day brings. You literally may be worried sick with the choices of a loved one, or you may simply be worried about yourself. You may even be already aware of the scope of change that is needed in your life but can only whisper it to yourself. And, we are sure you can appreciate the irony of this reality - now that we live in a world of so many choices, it can be quite intimidating, daunting, and overwhelming to be in the position to have to make a choice of healthcare providers. And, let's be honest, when we are stressed out, frazzled, and on our last nerve, who really wants to deal with search engines?

So, let's keep this simple and to the point. What can you expect when you work with us?

  • We have seen parents find strength they never knew they had to work to stabilize the behavior of one of their children.
  • We come from the perspective that diagnosis drives treatment. We have seen incredibly talented and gifted children being misdiagnosed and placed on medications that were not helpful. We work with parents, physicians, and school personnel to get an accurate diagnosis of a behavior.
  • We have worked with individuals who were not so sure they would have lived to see another birthday. They did.
  • We have heard parents say they had a good week with their family, and they have said, "I guess this does work."
  • Our clients will often comment that they are pleasantly surprised that we actually converse and dialog with them.
  • We have had clients include us (although they took the responsibility to do the work) in their continued accomplishment of a highly valued commitment to recovery.
  • Clients will say, "I had never thought of that."
  • With such complete satisfaction with changes in his family, a father suggested we should charge more. We did not.

This practice represents the combined personal and professional efforts of Kenneth and myself. We have developed an honest, straightforward, type of style that has been shaped by three decades of working with real people with real problems. Prior to 2014, there was not one facet of our business that we did not do ourselves. Most, if not all, small business owners will tell you they strive to achieve a unique level of customer service because they do the work themselves. As business owners, they hold themselves to a higher level of accountability and put extra effort into developing trust with their customers. As a sign of the times, and having been attentive to important feedback from our clients, the reality of a healthcare market that changes daily, we have become more visible in an increasingly digital world. Deep gratitude to Gammit Solutions http://www.gammit.net and Ron Delfmann, who worked with us to design our first web page www.gleavesconsulting.net and has provided artistic guidance to our visual images and social media projects, to Keeperbin Media LLC http://keeperbin.com and Chuck Floramo who kindly filmed, edited, and produced 'What Is Life?', and the many talented individuals who have provided support and continue to provide digital support for this project.

Very truly yours,
