2026 and a New Year at Gleaves Consulting

Welcome to 2026 and all the individuals, couples, and families we hope to meet and to work together to support positive lifestyle change. Gleaves Consulting is a family-owned counseling practice with two providers. Dr. Kenneth A. Gleaves is our lead clinician and resident educational psychologist.

The other provider is myself, Nancy Imler-Gleaves. I do many things at the practice we have nurtured for 28 years. The first chapter of our story spanned a little over two decades and was all about establishing roots in the world of behavioral health and learning to navigate many changes in our profession. The second chapter of our story began in September 2022 at a new location within the community of Evergreen Park. The nature of our work, a commitment to positive lifestyle change, remains the same; however, a feature that has evolved is what I call Embodied Values. These values have become a signature style of our practice and are the driving force behind our everyday activities. Embodied Values are about the everyday heartfelt choices made to bring forward resilience and sustainable physical health. Embodied values are translated into the language of behavior that is demonstrable, measurable, and doable. Embodied values have their roots in cooperation. Embodied values have a unique emphasis on self-nurture and a keen sense of self-preservation. I have always maintained that receiving services from a family-owned business is a positive, quality-enhanced experience.

What does a positive, quality-enhanced experience mean? It means that you are not alone in your health journey. It means you will be listened to and your story makes a difference to us, because it is your story. It means you have the benefit of guidance that comes from a certain life experience, yet a confidence in your own ability to define your path and create a new chapter in your life.

Each new year offers many opportunities for personal development, and support is essential for constructing a plan for change and encouragement for one's efforts. Life coaching is a service component new to our practice. As consultants for personal development, we work on innovative designs for personal growth.

There are two words that tend to be used frequently today. One is affordability, and the other is accessibility. Network development is an ongoing effort for any healthcare practitioner, and we are pleased to announce that we are currently in-network providers with OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital for the HMO plans of Blue Precision, Blue Advantage, HMOI, and Medicare Advantage. Also, we are very excited that we will be working as in-network providers with the Guidehealth Behavioral Health Care Network.
